Half Way There

Autumn is not coming all at once this year. Some trees have lost all their leaves and some still have all their green leaves.
This photo shows that in-between stage. The tree on the left has lost all it's leaves and the trees on the right still have all their leaves.
Silhouetted by the sun creates a striking contrast.

I went out yesterday in the fine weather to take some photographs. I usually cycle to where ever I go. So I did a 20 mile round trip to St.Ives (near cambridge not the one on the south coast).

Set out mid afternoon, had lunch at like 3/4pm then spent the next 2-3 hours taking photos as the sun was low and the light was perfect. Got back 7pm in the dark.

I really hope you all like this one. I froze my hands off taking this shot.

I used a ND.6 grad for the sky and a polariser.
Nothing much changed in this shot, I had to straighten up the horizon and thats it.
