Strange to think that the colours produced are as the camera sees them.

If you ever try this type of art then you will experience this effect for your self. When using very close range flash on maxium power and within a few inchs of the smoke the colour balance goes a bit wierd this was shot at 5200K but obviosly the electronic flash is a lot cooler so produces a cool tone, however as the light passes through the smoke and the shadows are cast in the smoke from the smoke the colour temp warms slightly and so produces a purple/magenta colour. This image required no adjustment to the saturation or hue but I did increase the contrast curve in the raw converter to a stronger curve.

Shapes can be made in the smoke by either blowing gently, or a more controlled method, by a small low speed motor spinning an object, for this I call upon my lego!
